Again, I found this masterpiece in a record store. This time, it was in Berlin Kreuzberg. I was about to leave the store since I did not find anything interesting when in the Japanese Jazz section I saw this record with its weird cover.

This album is so fun to listen to, also because I do not have any idea what to make of the vocals and every time I listen to it I discover something else.
I love how the rhythm and style changes frequently. One of my favourite parts is the entry of the saxophone in the first track shortly after minute 4.

Akira Sakata, which I have never heard of before (shame on me), provided the vocals that sound like from another world and the impressive saxophone solos. According to his short bio on Bandcamp, he has been known in the scene since the late 60s. And furthermore, he is a marine biologist. Seems to be an interesting man…
